Creek Street

The street that has many creeks on the sides

Ceres walked along the side of the street, sighing a bit as she walked. What to do.....What to do.... she thought as she roamed forward. Need a person.....to possibly...bother...

Yumeri walked along the sidewalk with his hands in his jacket pockets. He was smiling impossibly brightly, even though he felt somewhat awkward in a town he didn't know.

Ceres turned her head an spotted someone. Her mind yelled target and she ran up to the, tackle/glomping them randomly, it was one of her bad habits. "Hi there~ Watcha doing here? Are you new? Are you old? Do you know this place? I think I got a bit lost? Are you a student? If not do you teach here?" she asked, bombarding them with questions.

Yumeri looked frightened at first, and blinked a few times before taking in all the questions. He smiled more and started to count off on his fingers, thinking of the responses carefully.

"Hi there!

My name is Yumeri Mioenzawa, and yes, I am new here and have no idea what this place really looks like.

I felt as though I should familiarize myself with the town before I settled down.

I came here to teach English at the academy!

As for the question of age.... well.... that might have to wait a while...."

He chuckled at the last comment.

Ceres chuckled. "Great. I'm Ceres Julia Nightingale. You can call me Ceres or Julia. I teach here too. I take care of spells and potions. I've never taught before and this is all new to me because I lived in the mountains mostly." she said and smiled a closed eye smile.

"Well, Miss Ceres. I look forward to seeing you on campus!"

Yumeri looked past her for a few seconds then back at her.

"Did you say that you teach spells and potions? What an interesting topic!"

"I think it is too though it's something different. What about your class? Do you teach English the language or English like grammar and literature?" she asked.

"I assume that most people already know how to speak English in my class. Therefore, I will simply enrich their minds with literature, grammar, punctuation, and extend their vocabulary."

He made an odd hand gesture, as if rolling his hand over and over by twisting his wrist, to symbolize the list of things he had in plan for the people.

Yumeri smiled more.

"What do you plan on teaching in your class? Not everyone is a witch or warlock at the academy. I'm not even sure if some people could be able to cast spells!"

"But everyone can make herbal remedies which can be like a potion." she smiled "And those can be helpful."

Yumeri nodded thoughtfully. He wasn't exactly sure of her teaching ways, but he smiled acknowledging the fact it was new to her.

"I assume you cast spells yourself... right?"

"Sometimes but only wind stuff" she said with a shrug. "Why?"

Yumeri tapped his chin.

"I was simply thinking it would be unwise for a person who cannot cast spells to be teaching a spell class!"

Yumeri chuckled again.

"But my master couldn't cast spells and he taught me after I left my village" she said with a bit of a blink. "Sure it was only a little but it was still some" she said.

Yumeri raised his eyebrows quizzically.

"Hn... well... I guess anything is possible!"

Yumeri laughed again, trying to keep the conversation light and flitty, and not to intense.

"Yep" she smiled. "So, what do you think of this place? Well your first impression anyway." she added.

Yumeri looked around, taking the scene in. It was a mixture of feeling really. There was fear... happiness... stress....joy.... But she asked specifically what the first impression was.... Yumeri didn't remember.......

To avoid being badgered, Yumeri simply tilted his head a bit and said

"... It's something that I don't think I've ever experienced.... It's a lot to take in...."

"Hmm, I see" she said with a bit of a blink then looked around some "Wow, lots of water here" she smiled.

Yumeri blinked and realized she was correct.

"Indeed!"

His smile softened some.

"Do you like water? I was never much of a swimmer in my time."

Flashbacks rampaged his memories, and he quickly shook them away before they could haunt them.

"Well..... Do you really want to know how old I am?"

"I grew used to water since I kept falling off cliffs into it." she smiled. "And yes~ Yes I do want to know. Are you going to tell me?" she asked.

Yumeri chuckled and stuffed his hands into his pants pockets.

"I want you to guess once, then I will tell you how old I am."

"Umm appearance wise I'd have to say about 18-21 but actual I haven't a clue so I'll just guess randomly.....ummm 400ish?" she asked with a blink as she leaned back on her heels.

Yumeri chuckled a bit. She wasn't that far off.

" Indeed I do look as if I am in my late teens, but your guess was rather close. I am actually..."

Yumeri leaned in close to her ear, only quickly noticing it was bulging a little sharper under her hair than a humans would. He whispered so that she could hear, but only just within reach.

"... six hundred and nine years old..."

"Hmm neat" she smiled and stretched her arms out behind her. She wondered why he had whispered it though. "you're older than me but a good amount then but I'll reach that age sometime."

Yumeri laughed haughtily. He ruffled her hair up a bit.

"When you get to my age...."

He looked down and sighed a bit.

"When you get to my age.... you're not going to want people to know how old you are....

And you start to realize exactly how long forever really is."
